Russian blue

A svelte, aloof shorthair, the Russian Blue cat sports a lush thick, double coat that often conceals excess pounds if feeding isn't carefully supervised. The Russian Blue tends to lounge more than leap, making it an easy target for obesity. Since its coat is its major feature, brushing is a must. You don't want to dull this cat's exquisite fur. Brush it backwards, then forwards daily. This will stimulate oil glands, remove dead hair, and keep the coat shiny without flattening it. Give hair ball treatment between meals once or twice a week. A hair supplement with fatty acids, B vitamins and zinc is advisable. If you're not providing an alternative premium cat food diet regularly, give a balanced supplement daily, but an alternative premium cat food is what it really should have. Thought this breed is usually gentle, I've seen quite a few unruly Russian Blues. If yours is one, I'd suggest supplementing its meals with a balanced 25 - 50 mg B vitamin supplement and mixing 1 - 2 tablespoons of chamomile tea in moist food daily.
Start with 1 teaspoon and gradually increase the amount.
