Dental health in cats
In order to keep cat's teeth clean, all kittens over six months of age should be given one meal twice a week of raw chicken necks or chicken wings. Because this food has to be chewed, the friction effect it has on the teeth keeps them clean. If your cat doesn't like chicken necks or wings, there are commercial diets which help keep teeth clean. Teeth problems are common in the flat-face breeds such as Persians who have difficulty chewing with their back teeth. So in these breeds it is important to make sure they get a proper diet that keeps their teeth clean, or else you can buy a cat toothbrush and brush their teeth twice weekly.
