Malayan
The Malayan Burmese originated in the United States and only differs from the Burmese in colour; otherwise they are share many of the same characteristic as the Burmese. The Malayan Burmese is an adoring, friendly, affectionate cat; who loves nothing more than to give and receive love. If you are looking for a close companion who adores you as much as you adore him, the Malayan Burmese might just be the perfect creature to invite into your home. The Malayan Burmese has a medium sized build. His body is similar to that of Orientals, it is muscular, lithe and solid. His legs and tail are long and slender. Atop his rounded head lie two blunt ears. The Malayan Burmese has all of the same characteristics of the Burmese, except for colour. While the main colour of the standard Burmese is a lovely sable (chocolate in Britain), the Malayan Burmese can come in a wide variety of solid colours. The Malayan Burmese a relatively new breed that was only recently recognized. The first club to recognize them did so in 1980.
Diet: A purebred Malayan cat is a bit more assertive than a Burmese, but it's nutritional needs are
the same. The breed is prone to ocular discharge, so supplementing the diet with vitmain C, 100 - 200 mg daily, or an
antioxidant formula, is recommended. I've found this helpful in averting potential eye problems
and clearing up those that already exist. For continued coat beauty, feed an alternative high quality premium cat food plus a supplement that enhances
the beautiful coat or your Malayan cat and protects from allergies. Torula yeast and garlic or brewer's yeast is the
perfect healthy treat.
